2 Kababayans Tagged in Pinay’s Death in Oman


An argument involving three Filipinas and a Bangladeshi woman in Salalah turned ugly, resulting in the death of a Filipino domestic worker.

The victim was identified as Chiqui Schofield, 34, of Caloocan City.

Initially, it was difficult to get Information about Schofield’s death since Salalah is more than a thousand kilometers away from Muscat, the capital of Oman.

Based on the reports received by the Philippine Embassy, the incident happened last September 19 when the 3 Filipinas and a Bangladeshi national had an argument inside a manpower agency in Salalah.

“According to that report, during that altercation, something had happened. The deceased, Ms. Schofield, was hit in the head with a fire extinguisher by one of the Filipinas which caused her death,” said Vice Consul Jose Garcia III.
