Charice talks about recording 'Final Fantasy' theme song

MANILA, Philippines - International singing sensation Charice is thankful to be given an opportunity to sing one of the theme songs of Square Enix's upcoming role playing game, "Final Fantasy XIII-2."

In an interview on a Japanese television show which was uploaded on YouTube, Charice said her song, titled "New World," tells "a very emotional, heartbreaking story."

Part of the lyrics go: "Baby I'm gonna see the new world / With nothing but the love you gave me."

"I just want to thank everybody for giving me a chance to be part of it. It's such a beautiful atmosphere, beautiful," the 19-year-old Filipina singer said in the interview.

"When I recorded the song, I was like, this is a great song. It's like you can really relate to it. Not only me, but all the people."

Charice's "New World" will be available on the Western version of "Final Fantasy XIII-2," while Mai Fukui's "Yakusoku no Basho" will be released in the Japanese version of the game, reports said.

"New World" is one of the songs from Charice's second album titled "Infinity," which will be released in Japan on October 5.

"Final Fantasy XIII-2" is a direct sequel to Square Enix's "Final Fantasy XIII," which was released last year.

"My Hands," performed by British singer Leona Lewis, is the theme song for the Western version of "Final Fantasy XIII."
