A WHIRLWIND of celebratory activities await Shamcey Supsup, 2011 Miss Universe third runner up, who arrived in Manila Sunday morning.
“I’m glad to be back home after more than a month of being away. I so miss the Philippines. Thank you for being here for welcoming me,” Supsup told the crowd that welcomed her at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
She also thanked those who voted for her online, sent their prayers, text votes and e-mail that motivated her to do well in the pageant.
Various homecoming celebrations are being prepared for Supsup in Makati City (Metro Manila), Cainta, Rizal and General Santos City.
Makati City will hold a ticker parade today for Shamcey, who will visit Makati High School where she graduated salutatorian. Activities will also be held at the Araneta Center and the University of the Philippines where she got her degree in architecture.
An early favorite at the Miss Universe pageant in Brazil, Supsup topped the online voting but landed on the third runner up post. Miss Angola was crowned Miss Universe 2011.
