Piston claims transport strike a success, but Palace thinks otherwise

MANILA, Philippines - (UPDATE 6 - 3:54 p.m.) Militant transport group Piston (Pagkakaisa ng mga Samahan ng Tsuper at Opereytor Nationwide) pushed through with its nationwide transport strike on Monday to call for a one-time P9 rollback on fuel prices.

Piston led other militant groups in a series of protests across Metro Manila and other parts of the country to demand for a reduction in fuel prices, repeal of the Oil Deregulation Law, and the removal of the 12 percent Value Added Tax.
